In 1976, Andy Warhol invited Jamie Wyeth to paint at The Factory, Warhol's famous New York studio. While there, they painted many portraits of celebrities including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rudolf Nureyev and each other. The original painting of Lunch at the Factory, made of charcoal, colored pencil, gouache, pastel and watercolor on cardboard, is from 1976. In it, Wyeth captures Warhol's odd personality using his own quirky sense of humor.
